Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program Grant

The HVRP Grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor; the purpose of the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) is to provide employment related services to assist in the reintegration of homeless veterans into meaningful employment within the labor force and to create a development of effective service delivery systems that will address the complex problems facing homeless veterans.

The HVRP Team provides an array of services utilizing a case management approach that directly assist homeless veterans as well as provide critical linkages for variety of supportive services available in their local communities. HVRP is “employment focused” and veterans receive the employment and training services they need in order to re-enter the labor force. Job placements, training, job development, career counseling, resume preparation, are among the services that are provided. Supportive services such as clothing, referrals to temporary, transitional, permanent housing, medical and substance abuse treatment, transportation and food pantries as needed.

How the Employer Benefits

HVRP is similar to a built in Employee Assistance Program around employment. Veterans participating in HVRP work closely with the HVRP Team to address social barrier that hinder employment and retention of their jobs. Employers turnover is costly. The HVRP Team will continue to work with the program participants and employers during post placement to assist the veteran with any issues that may keep the veteran from maintaining and retaining long-term career success, The HVRP’s Team assistance with retention is cost savings measure to employers.

Employers Will Also Receive:

• Veterans who are prescreened my the HVRP Team for each job placement/position
• Dedicated, reliable, loyal, and honest team players with a deep sense of stick-to-it-ness
• No cost to employers in reference to contributions to health care premium for Veterans receiving their health care from the VA Healthcare System and
• No cost to employers for advertising fees — Our Services are free to employers.

The full complement of veteran services is provided by Employment Specialists, Job Coach and Case Managers.
