Bobby grew up and attended school in Ayden, North Carolina where he received his High School Diploma from South Ayden High School. He received his certification as a machinist from Berk Trade School in Brooklyn, NY. Bobby received a medical discharge from the U. S. Army in 1968.

Bobby has worked in the field of Culinary Arts at Concerned Citizens of Sunset Park Head Start, Mount Sinai Hospital and Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital, all located in New York City.

Currently Bobby is employed as Staff Organizer of District Council 1707/AFSCME, AFL-CIO in NYC. On the Board of Directors of BVSJ, he retains a position on the Grievance Committee.
