In 1995 BVSJ began providing
services to persons affected with AIDS. Qualified individuals
receive support services in securing affordable housing, furnishings
and other needed services.

SHP provides assistance to veterans
and the community to identify, access and maintain affordable
and decent housing. Housing advocacy, tenant counseling and referrals
to temporary and permanent housing services are provided through
linkages with local communities, block associations and real
estate brokers. BVSJ provides housing referrals to participants
in the ICM/SCM programs to help to secure permanent housing for
mentally disabled homeless veterans.

Neighborhood Rehabilitation Program
Developing over 100 units in 14 buildings. These buildings are
partially tenanted and will require relocation services. Assistance is
provided via New York City Housing Preservation and Development and
the Enterprise Foundation.
