Description
Vice President of Internetworking/Technology Department and
Security Division. Oversee the development and support of agency data and
voice technology, internetworking and infrastructure. Conduct internal
auditing aimed to evaluate the agency internal operations. Commander of the
agency proprietary security division.
Born in Brooklyn, New York to Annie B. Jones a single mother of two grew up in
Oceanhill Brownsville. Brother Jay attended Public School 178, William McKinley
Junior high and Boys High school.
Joined the Army on his birthday in July of 1971, and served in Europe and
Indochina with the 3rd Infantry Division, A Troop, Seventh Calvary Division
and the 307th Signal Battalion patrolling the borders of the Iron Curtain and
Jungles of Far East Asia.
A Disabled Veteran Era Veterans, Jay was Honorably Discharged as a Specialist
Five Class in 1976. Jay had a long stay in the hospital in Ft. Huachuca AZ,
for a service related illness/injury inflicted overseas.
In 1977, at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge, Jay notices a group of veterans
preparing to march over the Brooklyn Bridge. His was told, "We are marching
for the injustices that are being committed against the Black Veterans and our
Community.
Jay went on to serve as chairman of the Black Veterans for Social Justice
Board of Directors for five terms, Chief of Security, Technology Consultant
and Chairperson of BVSJ 20th & 25th anniversary committees, Jay represented
African American veterans’ issues thorough-out the USA and Internationally.
Brother Jay, a single parent, and homeowner, family consists of five sons, one
daughter, and eight grandchildren. Recipient of the "Fatherhood Award," from
the Sisterhood of Single Black Mothers, presided as president of PS-316 Parent
Teachers Association for two terms, and the recipient of the Council of
Supervisors and Administrators "Parent leadership Award."
Brother Jay coached Pop Warner football for the Brooklyn Skyhawks, worked as a
Public School Athletic Association Football Official, and USA Amateur Boxing
Official 1998 Golden Gloves.
